{Side notes: Of course, said staffer claims that she needs to redo this apt on a "limited budget." But since furniture prices are included in the magazine, it's not hard to figure out that this room cost at least 10K. I wish I had a "limited budget." Mine would probably qualify as an "are-you-kidding-me budget." Plus, it drives me crazy that the writers continually point this out, because I know this person is never actually paying for this stuff. The magazine pays so they can shoot it and put it in their magazine. Let's just end this charade now, please, Ms. Editor-in-Chief.}
So the apt looks great. And she even has a stylist come over to edit down her wardrobe. I would LOVE to have someone come do this for me. The stylist asked two questions (Do you love it? Do you wear it?) and if the answer to both questions wasn't yes, the item was tossed. Brutal.
Inspired to reorganize, I faced my own closet and realized that if I asked myself these questions and followed through, I'd really have nothing left but a couple of pairs of jeans and a worn out t-shirt. Oh, and about four pairs of black yoga pants. Which I wear every day. And which I just realized are basically just sweatpants that are more flattering than actual sweatpants.
World, I'm letting myself go.
