The Forty-Pound Lifesaver

When living with a new baby and a 1-year-old puppy, someone is going to get neglected. I'm sure you can guess which one has gotten the shaft in our situation.

Poor Ripley. Right before Meg was born, I was on the verge of getting another dog. I know it would have been a crazy move, but I was desperate to have someone or something else entertain Ripley because I knew that soon enough his status in this house would fall quickly and hard.

So it was divine intervention that our neighbor, suddenly finding herself with a new job and long working hours, mentioned that she needed to find someone to help entertain her sweet dog, Dora, during the long days. George and I looked excitedly at one another and immediately volunteered to having Dora come over to play with Ripley during the day. That's right - five days a week for eight hours a day. Yea! Now all we have to do is feed him. :)

And now they are the best of friends. Except when he tries to wrestle with her and she completely ignores him until he's so annoying that she gives in and jumps on his head just to shut him up.

Soundtrack: Sondre Lerche, "Hell No"

Love the pictures. I am so glad Ripley has a best friend. We could all use one...(or a few)

Love you guys, see you soon.
