Today my parents are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. Wow! Congrats!
I can't wait to look back on my own wedding after 30 years. (I just hope I can remember all the people that were in our wedding party--unlike you, Dad!:) We've been married for four years now, which I know is only a few minutes in the span of most long, happy marriages, but I will be presumptious and philosophize anyway.
Marriage is exhilarating. It's comforting and hard and fun and challenging and sexy and frustrating and enjoyable and stimulating and droll. It's routine and adventure. It's companionship and taking walks and cleaning the car and rubbing backs and making dinner and walking the dog and watching movies and holding hands. . . . And I can't even imagine what happens when you throw kids into the mix.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for sticking together. We love you so much!
