So we're going to New York! For Christmas! Hooray!
Besides all the usual touristy sight-seeing, we'd love to go to some places that are off the beaten path. If you have any suggestions for great places to go (especially restaurants), we'd love to know about them. (We're staying in Manhattan near Central Park.)

There's a hole in the wall burger joint in a fancy hotel. It's otherworldly, you walk through this fancy lobby behind a curtain into a back door into a total dive. Here's the info:

Even people who stay in the swank Le Parker Meridien like a good ol' burger once in a while. So hidden behind a curtain in a corner of the lobby is this secret snack bar serving all those naughty cravings: grilled burgers with the works, fries, milkshakes and beer on tap. Slumming never felt so good.
